What Feminism Really Is!

Feminism is a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal to define, establish, and achieve political, economic, personal and social equality of sexes. Feminism is not saying we are all the same, telling women that it is wrong to want to be a housewife or a mother, ignoring struggles faced by men, and ignoring the difference between sex and gender.

When we first think of the word feminism it comes to mind that only women have this right to believe in. Feminism can be supported by both genders male and female. Women aren't meant to be a 'at home mom' who cleans and cooks, it's between both genders because they are both equal. Women have came along way from back then to now , us women didn't have a say, they couldn't vote back then and they "had to take care of their husbands" and even listen to them. I'm not saying it is okay for women to treat the men like shit, i'm saying we both have the same equality. Women can do a mans job, and Men can do a women's job.

Based on my life experience i've always thought men and women are treated the exact same but i was wrong. I never really looked at it in full depth what feminism really is because it's all around the world. My mom has always told me growing up that i can always do anything a man can do. And i never really questioned her about that because i never really knew anything about it. I have herd a couple stories about men thinking it's okay to rape girls and get away with it because apparently us women lie about that kind of stuff because it is so common. This shows me that women have a voice but can not be heard as much as men do. But with feminism it has become really known and both genders support each other and agree that they are both equal to one another.

College

Planning on going to college
Whenever we hit junior and senior year we are looking at colleges, we are always get that question from EVERY single teacher "where do you want to go to college?" even "Are u planning on going to college?" and to be honest it gets really annoying for some people, because some people including myself are trying to get through with high school first before we plan on focusing on a college. The proportion of teens that attend college after high school is a 65.9 percent, that even includes the percentage of graduation rates in high school. So is college really that much of a hype after high school?

I don't know anyone out of my family who has went to college and completed it fully. My older sister who is now 26 went to college right after high school getting her major in teaching, but she kept taking breaks and honestly she should be done by now and be teaching but she got held back because of work. Therefore she never completed college and waisted thousands of dollars. I really looked up to my sister because i really wanted to go to college like my sister then i saw how stressful it can get and how u have to pay for your classes and even books. Honestly it's crazy how u have to pay out of your own pocket to start a career and start a life, that's why teens think of just going to get a job instead of school and make that their life off of that.

My parents never attended college after high school because my mom got pregnant at a really young age and she told me she was just tired of school already. Both my mom and dad really want me to be the first one out of my family to attend college and finish because no one ever did. It's very stressful thinking about going to college because i hear really good things about it and really bad things.
My overall opinion about college is really 50/50 i understand college is really good for you and you can major in anything and make a lot of money off of what u want to do. But for me i have no motivation and no one to look up to in my family, but i'm only a junior and i know i will make up my mind as soon as possible because i want to make my parents and family really proud!

Depending on where you go you have to pay a lot of money un less you get a full ride scholarship then u are set to go. If you are thinking about going to a private college it is $34,740 for you to go in state you will only pay $9,970. That is honestly a lot of money and you have to think really hard about when u complete and what your out come is going to be when u graduate from college. For most people it's really hard to think about what college you want to attend because you can either get letters from a lot of other colleges who really want u apart of their school or you have to apply to the colleges u want and hope to get a letter back if they are interested or not.

Headphone Concert

Music directly to the ears

A headphone concert is a live music performance where the audience, in the same venue as the performing artist, as they listen to the music through headphone. The people who are attending these headphone concerts are most likely teenagers because if they are playing loud music through headphones it's most likely teenagers because the older people have very sensitive ears. Since your'e listening to music through headphones it probably is music easier to talk to other people because u can simply take off your headphones and u can hear the other person more clearly without any interruptions since the music won't be playing over you speaking.

A headphone concert can have a lot of people to attend because everyone gets a pair of wireless headphones that they can just put on and go dance with friends. But keep in mind when u are wearing headphones and u wanna talk to someone u have to take them off so you can hear the other person. The good think is with the headphone concert everyone is listening to the same stuff you are because it can be live and on a broad cast. Those without any headphones hear no music, giving the effect of people dancing to nothing.

Headphone concerts happen out of the country a lot occur in Europe. They are ranked as extremely popular around due to no noise disturbing any neighbors, and building around. Basically everyone can party as much as they want without any noise complaint. In Europe there is a lot of indoor and outdoor concerts, for example in the picture above there is a lot of people in one room for the front to back and the djs are in their own personal place so they can play the next songs and probably even speak to the audience .

Headphone concerts happen at night. The reason for a headphone concert is for many reasons. Mainly for disturbing the peace and getting the cops called on you and crashing the party. And just having the music mainly for your ear. When you think about it everyday mostly every teenager at Del Norte has headphones in and is blasting their music in class and everyone can hear it so that is like a mimi headphone concert but just for an individual.

Making the Del Norte Varsity Cheer team

I Have had a lot of big events that have happened over the past 3 years of High school but the one that i am most proud of is how i was just a freshman and i had NO EXPERIENCE at all with cheer. I would go to the summer workouts and practice with the team. The only other freshman that was trying out was one of my best friends Kaylie, we would practice together,we were like two peas in a pot and we were never apart,we never spoke to almost anyone, we were always on time maybe even a bit earlier, and we were very scared.
During the summer workouts tryouts for the Varsity team came up. Me and my family were very nervous. I remember like it was yesterday my older sister who was on the cheer team throughout her whole years at Del Norte would come over after we had practice and go over all the cheers, dances and jumps i had to complete in order to make the varsity team. Keep in mind i wasn't trying to be on a varsity level i wanted to make the C team Or JV team. So my sister gave me feedback on how to keep my jumps higher and how to raise my voice during cheers we had to say.
Tryouts were coming up really fast so i got my number that i had to wear in order to try out. I was number five and my best friend kaylie was number four. Tryouts were literally the next day after getting our numbers. The morning of tryouts at about 6:30 my older sister came over and got me ready, she always told me "In order to be a cheerleader you have to look like a cheerleader" to be honest i had no idea what i just walked into at the moment because she brought ALL of her makeup and hair products. She gave me a complete makeover, i was wearing dark eyeshadow and very bright red lipstick. My hair was teased in the front and pulled back with a big cheer bow tied in my hair. I was wearing a black Strap shirt with turquoise shorts and my shoes. It was really weird seeing myself look so different because i've never wore makeup before!
As my sister was taking me to tryouts she was telling me positive things with my parents on the phone, everyone was very nervous for me and so was i. But deep down i knew my parents and sister were just trying to kiss my ass because they always kept repeating themselves that "if u don't make it it's okay" and they would repeat themselves because i had no experience what so ever. So honestly i kind of already knew i wasn't going to make it. When my sister dropped me off  she got out of her car and hugged me and told me she loved me and to go kick some ass at my tryouts and to smile, be loud and be tight with my moves.
Tryouts began and we had time slots and we had partners, but we couldn't pick our partners so i had this junior named angelica. As i was going on in front of the judges i was a nervous reck but i did exactly what my sister told me, to kick some ass! and honestly iv'e never tried so hard for something i really wanted. Tryouts went very well and very successful for me, and honestly i was very proud of myself because i went for something new and something iv'e never done before.
After try outs ended we had to come back to the cheer room at 2:30 to see our number on a poster and if out number was on the poster we were on the varsity team. So i went with my dad and i wanted to tear up because i had a strong feeling i didn't make it, and as my dad was pulling up to the cheer room my dad told me "Just remember it's okay if u didn't make varsity it was your first time ever doing something new" and as we came to the poster i saw my number and i did a double take because i was very confused and i thought i saw the wrong number and i was screaming telling my dad " I MADE THE TEAM DAD!!! I ACTUALLY MADE THE TEAM!!" and my dad was laughing and was tearing up and was like "No way go check again and take a picture just to make sure" so i did exactly what he did and i came to him showing him and telling him "Yes!!! my number is Five and it's right there" my dad hugged me so tight and tears came down his face. It was the best feeling ever. As i was looking at the poster i saw my best friend Kaylies number and i called her ad told her she made it and me and her were both screaming.

In conclusion me and kaylie were the only Freshmans who made the varsity cheer team in 2016, and in the end trying new stuff u have never done before is honestly pretty fun and challenging because u never know what u can accomplish in the end. And to this day as a junior i'm still currently on the cheer team and i have improved so much and i love my coach and my team and would go back just to feel this experience over and over again.
